I came in after trying what felt like everything to reduce my tmj pain and tension. I had gotten a night guard, done two rounds of physical therapy, saw a chiropractor, did dry needling, and got botox. Within my first session, where we mostly discussed the issue and did about 10 minutes of hands on work, I could tell a difference which allowed my jaw to relax a little bit and open wider. The pain became so bad, I would eat only once in the evening right before bed and avoided social situations that required talking. At the first appointment, she did a thorough evaluation and assessed my goals prior to starting. Based on this, we established a treatment plan. After even the first session, I saw improvement in pain and stiffness, which continues to improve with each session. After the first few sessions, my pain and inflammation did increase for a few days, but after the third session and beyond, I have seen durable, improving, and lasting results. Marzena has also helped me reframe how I think about pain, and she is responsive to my needs. Marzena is exceptional at massage but also is a caring person who invites you to share a little more about yourself and she does the same.
